From Baroque to tango and jazz
It’s gives us great pleasure and pride to welcome the star trumpet soloist Tine Thing Helseth to Tromsø for a concert with Henning Kraggerud and the Arctic Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
We have many gems in store for you on this evening with an historic journey through the world of music.
We start with Baroque’s Telemann and then follow up with Beethoven’s Serioso, written in the aftermath of Napoleon’s invasion of Vienna.
We then move towards romantic Tchaikovsky, continue to the 20th century’s Piazolla, pay a flying visit into Joni Mitchell’s classic Both Sides Now and conclude with Lars Holmer’s work where Bartok meets progressive rock.
Tine Thing Helseth is well known at home, but for several years she has also had a strong international career.
In 2017, she released her new album Never Going Back featuring songs she has written herself. If we are lucky, we will get a taste of the album when she visits us in Tromsø. In any case, our artistic director, Henning Kraggerud, has promised to ask nicely.
