A meeting of the masters

Truls Mørk & Henning Kraggerud

See dates and tickets

Two of Norway’s foremost classical music stars are meeting to play works by Grieg and
Tchaikovsky.

Cellist Truls Mørk was the first Scandinavian to be a finalist and prize winner in the Moscow Tchaikovsky Competition in 1982. He has also received many other international prizes, including a Grammy, in addition to many Spellemann awards. In this concert, he meets the Arctic Philharmonic’s own international star, Henning Kraggerud, to play Grieg like you have never heard Grieg before. Kraggerud, in collaboration with our cellist Bernt Simen Lund, has rewritten the Norwegian composer’s violin sonatas as violin concertos and later as cello concertos.

Add in Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence and you get a full evening of romantic themes by world-class musicians.
