Pop & Rock with a new look
We draw parallels through music history and ”match” contemporary music’s expression with both known pop and rock tunes of the 80s and 90s, and modern electronica. This is done with the guarantee that it will be just as amusing for young and old!
The newspaper Bladet Vesterålen, November 14,2007:
”Packing contemporary music in pop is a clear way to trick young people on wave lengths with the abstract and ”adult” branch of music, but Tormod Tvete Vik and company from Sortland did this so generously and so convincingly that we gladly allow ourselves to be ticked.
“A-ha’s “Take on me” was stripped to the bones and came sideways out of the xylophone. I hope Tvete Vik returns to Sortland again soon.”

Tormod Tvete Vik (b. 1975) grew up in Trondheim and has lived in Gothenburg since 2002. Tormod started to play the violin at the age of six at the School of Music and Performing Arts in Trondheim. This led to him studying the violin at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim and in time various freelance assignments with TrondheimSolistene, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and his own string quartet over a period of several years. After further studies in musical composition/arranging, also at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim, Storfag Music at the University of Oslo and private lessons in musical composition with Bjørn Kruse, composing and arranging music became Tormod’s main form of employment. He now works on various commissions, music for documentary films and commercials and arrangements for choirs, bands and orchestras. Tormod has worked a lot on “crossover” projects between artists and classical ensembles, including Sissel Kyrkjebø and Herborg Kråkevik & TrondheimSolistene. Through his own online note publishing company, TTV Music, he publishes new educational music and new arrangements for string players. www.tormodtvetevik.com.
